Tire Pressure Tire Life M700

I see several threads on tire pressure, but i cannot find any recommendations keeping both front and rear same. On my 09 HD with 17" tires, it recommends 72psi rear & 50psi front. Rear seems somewhat high unless you are carrying full payload. I also notice the M700 Bridgestone that this has is Q rated. What tire life can I expect from these if proppery inflated and rotated with hardly any weight on bed?

My truck doesn't have the tire pressure monitor so I run 60 psi frt and 50 psi rear when empty.

My 2500HD also has the 17" wheels with the Bridgestone M700 tires, my door sticker recommends 60 frt and 72 rear, are you sure your says 50 front?

 

I agree with Shaners, I run my tires at 60 front and 50 rear when unloaded, the tires seem to be wearing good at these pressures. Most of the weight is obviously on the front so I wouldn't run any lower that 60, and 50 seems to be a good balance for the back ( rears are wearing well with no noticeable excessive wear in the center of the tire)

 

I've also had the tpms system reprogrammed so the system it set for 60 front and 50 rear so I don't get the tpms warning message and light. Despite what people tell you THIS CAN BE DONE, all you need is a GM TECH2 , access the bcm (body control module) and go to tire pressure monitoring, there you can get the values for the tpms system.

Interesting about the 60psi. Mine clearly reads on both labels, the tire label and GM label on door 50psi front 72psi rear. Still TPMS, comes on occasionally while driving and doesn't show a reading for front right. Then if I shut engine off and restart it comes back ok for a while. Also electronic tire readings show differences between each tire by a few psi cold, but is almost all equal when tires get hot.

My 07 2500 with the factory LT245/16s Deathstones wear like iron at 28k

and look new even tho I run a snowplow all winter and heavy tow during

the summer running at factory pressures of 50 frt. 80 rear.

You guys that have factory tire pressure specs of 50 front, what is your cab/bed/engine combo? Just curious as to why my truck seems to have factory specs of 60 front.

I also have a 09 2500HD with 17" wheels and the fronts are 50 and rears are 72 (per door sticcker). This is for a 2500HD LTZ Crew Cab 6'-6" bed 4x4 with 6.0L. This is what I am running the tires at and not noticing and wear issues. the truck is empty more than loaded also.

Yah, me too, 50 front and 72 in the rear. The Duravis's are wearing well, but i'm going to swap them this spring for another set, (BFG AT KO's) just to have some white letters to make the rims and the truck not look so plain on the side view. I am impressed with these tires though good traction and quiet but they do wander a bit more than I thought being HD tires.(sidewall sway going 60+)
