Hey all... just joined the board. Recently bought an '10 GMC Sierra ext.cab.... always been a GM owner (I think this one is #11) of one thing or another... this is my first full size truck though (I did own a 1990 S10 for a few years back in the late 90's). Ironically enough I learned to drive on my Dad's old '75 GMC Sierra back in the mid 80's, what a beast of a rig to drive, manual clutch, three on the tree, 350 engine... no wonder I never owned a full sized truck until now, hahaha, that truck may have scarred me!

Anyway... finally decided to get a truck.. was tired of bumming the father inlaws for this that and other things. I will be using it as a truck though, didn't have it two days before I had it loaded down with a bed load of firewood . This won't be an off-roader or a fancy street low rider (I own a '87 Camaro IROC-Z that has way too much cash/time invested into it to get my thrills at the track and street, )

I am glad I found this board.. I have read a few of the posts.. seems like a tight knit group of owners!

I plan on tinting the two door windows and add a polished AMI locking fuel door and that will be the extent of my mods (famous last words maybe? lol... nahhhh, the Camaro keeps the little "mod money" I have)

Welcome to the site. Nice truck, black is a great color. Any pics of the IROC? Love those years of F-body cars. Mainly the Trans Am. Had an 88 Trans AM GTA, 92 Trans AM and a 96 Formula.

Absolutely... I am not going to get into the mods of the IROC as there are too many, let's just say it ain't a stock L98-350 TPI anymore , dear god the amount of blood (busted knuckles wrenching on the thing), sweat, tears, and money I have put into that car over the years. There were many times when I was close to selling it, and times when I was close to dropping a match in the gas tank and walking away lol... but I love the car, and in the last few years she has been good to me...

Very nice. What she run in the 1/4. I have switch from sport cars to sport bikes and race a 05 honda cbr 600rr. Fastest time so far is a 10.56 @ 131. Just with some bolt ons and about 20+ hours on the dyno. Heres a pic of it....

My last run last fall I was able to get a 13.72 @ 98 .... my rear gears are holding me back now, they are the stock Borg Warner 3.27's... I have a set of Motive 3.70's to put in this spring, should drop my 60 foot down considerably (best so far was a 1.83). I still have a TPI intake (although it's a Edelbrock hi-flo runners and base), 24lb injectors, race ready 700R4 trans (completely rebuilt to be near bulletproof), headers, bigger cam than stock (.496 lift), full suspension redone (SFCs etc etc if you know 3rd Gens you know the mods ) and a bunch of other smaller mods. The engine itself is a rebuilt L98 roller block that was bored .40 over.... I am getting to the limit of what I want to do with the car... I had it professionally tuned and a custom PROM burned for her last summer and that cleared up a lot of driveability issues I had with the car.... now it's just fun to drive.

The car is a blast to drive on the street... TPI's make loads of torque down low... its a fun hobby

That's a nice bike you have there... you certainly can't beat a bike for all out performance...
