Inst Enom 09 Silverado

Can someone explain to me what the Inst Econ average is on the DIC display? I have the 09 Silverado 5.3L. The MPG average seems to change alot, can someone explain? Thanks.

it's your "instant fuel economy".... at that precise moment in time, that is your miles per gallon. the average MPG is a smoother number based over a longer period of time and averaging out the same information.
