Aux Gasoline Tank

Been kicking around options to get me some further range while towing. Think I am pretty narrowed down to the RDS Aluminum 37 gal flat tank#71804to slip up under my crossrail truck box. Planning to use one of the install kits with an inexpensive high flow low pressure fuel pump - cost being the main reason (don't feel like dropping $1K on a transfer flow or replacement tank).

 

Anybody with a gasoline truck done something like this before? I need to take apart my filler neck to see what size the hose is (if ya know offhand what an '04 2500HD 6.0L has it would be appreciated). Other helpful hints from those who've done it are appreciated.

Be careful on ordering those. I know alot of transfer tanks are approved for diesel use only.

 

The only tank I woud use is this. Though it is pricey.

I know - that's the other reason why I like RDS - their tanks are ok for gasoline as long as you use a siphone tube from the top of the tank with a pump (and they send you the kit). Most of the other ones I looked at are diesel only, period. Including Titan

Mine is custom made, and it paid for itself many times over since (I got it back in 1991).
