1997 Chevy 454 SS, K3500 Silverado Crew Cab, 5-speed manual, 4WD, SRW, 58,900 original miles

 

Onyx black, Gray leather interior. All available options, 454SS appearance package - built into a 454SS using all factory parts. Special factory order, listed for $32,921 in 1997. See the pictures of the original window sticker.

 

Original owner. All documentation, fuel, and service records since new. Never in an accident, never repainted, never buggered up, always carefully maintained. The two incidents reported in the vehicle history reports were from backing into a Buick in a parking lot (no damage to the truck) and a problem with a trailer wheel (nothing with the truck). Everything works as it should - no surprises. Drive it across the country today. All work over the years done by the local Chevy dealer where the truck was bought.

 

This is a great looking and great running big-block stick 4x4 truck! I've never seen another one like this. With the Banks power-pack headers and exhaust on it, and the 5-speed manual, it's very responsive and delivers reasonable mileage. Highway empty, 11-13 mpg, and pulling a 10,000lb 5-th wheel, about 8 mpg - the fuel records prove it. Runs on regular gas just fine.

 

Appearance-wise, the truck looks great for being 13 years old. Interior is excellent - absolutely no issues. Paint is good, but the original factory clear-coat has some crazing in it on the hood and roof that does not polish out, from age I guess. The paint is good, but would certainly benefit from a good polishing and detailing. Wheels are in great shape but dull. They would polish up to their original chrome-like finsh with a bit of elbow grease. No body damage outside of a few minor parking-lot dings and rubs here and there. No body or bed rust, but some normal rust on the undercarriage as expected for a vehicle of this age. This truck has been used, but well cared for. I've run it with a 11' slide-in camper, a stock trailer, a car trailer, and a 32' 5th wheel camper. It will pull most anything you can reasonablly hook to it, in comfort, style, and reasonable economy.
