'08 Hd Crew Cab Rear Speaker Output Level Reduced

Recommended Posts

Truck is in the shop for door lock actuators and also for rear speaker out put.

Truck is an '08 Sierra 2500HD Dmax Crew Cab

Rear speaker output went to about nothing during a trip last summer, and to get any discernable sound out of it, I have to adjust the fader nearly all the way to the back.

Now, I KNOW it wasn't that way for the first year I owned it.

BUT, I'm being told by the service tech, who was told by GM engineering that the rear speakers are subwoofers only, and that is the way that ther are supposed to be.

Anybody else have this issue or anwsers for me? I find it hard to believe that the rear speakers in the rear doors of a crew cab are subwoofers only?

I know I'm not loosing my mind yet. I know that they are different now than a year ago.

How do I argue this...or...did I loose my mind?

Tell them that if this is the case that you want them to pick ANY truck on their line up and you want to listen to the "subwoofer" only rear speakers in that vehicle.....if it sounds the same then you are done. When it is completely different, they will actually look into the problem.

I did that. And I found that I need to do two things...get fitted for hearing aids, and smack the kids the next time they complain about the sound in the back seat.
