Clutch Slave Cylinder Travel Required To Disengage Clutch

Recommended Posts

Hi, New here and in a bind for time. I lost the clutch on my step van. Fluid level was low. Have replaced both the master and the slave. Slave is an external on the bell housing. I understand they are hard to bleed, but I have bled and bled. Manually, and with a vaccum bleeder. The best I can get moves the slave cylinder about a 1/2" as viewed through the inspection hole. This isnt enough to disengage the clutch. I have pushed on the actuating fork and there is about 1/8" play before it contacts the pressure plate. I cant seem to find any specs as to how far the slave should travel. I'm really not wanting to pull the transmission until I can determine this. There seems to be an excessive amount of free play before you get any pressure on the pedal. At my wits end. The design of this thing isnt condusive to bleeding at least with the equiptment I have.
