Helping Out Dad

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could help me out? My father lives in Northern Wisconsin and has a 2006 1 ton van diesal van, I hope I spelled that right. Well his wait to start light will go on and never shut off, he will wait 5 sec then start it anyway, it fires right up but the check engine light will come on. Anyone have this problem? If so could you help me help him? Thank you

he has a code in the glow plug module and needs to get it diag'd properly ,DO NOT throw parts at it .take it to a dealer

Now would that be a powertrain warrenty issue? Or a warrenty issue at all? He has 60,000 miles on it and already the rear seals, the driveshaft yoke and some other minor things happend after 36,000 miles that were not. I just dont want the dealers to trow at him a bunch of parts he does not need. I would call and take care of it for him but Im in CA, I have experiance with warrenty issues since I have a 08 silverado and a BRP Can Am ATV, if anyone has the BRP they will know what im talking about there a pain to deal with lol. Thanks for your help this site has helped me out a lot with mmy mods for my truck, very knolagable people here sorry for the spelling will not let me correct it lol.

anything attached to the powertrain is covered i believe,call and ask,there could be a fix for this like a reprogram,local shops don't know shit about new stuff or GM diagnostics,it needs to be scanned first and formost !

That's true! It could be as simple as a computer re-flash which is why it's never good to throw parts at something like this trying to fix the issue.
