Adding Integrated Trailer Brake Controller...

Recommended Posts

Posted

I currently drive a 2010 Sierra Denali and was wondering if the integrated brake controller could be added? I was kinda upset when I could order it as an option on any other truck but with the denali they wouldn't let me. Now I don't do a lot of towing but my camper and trailer both have the electronic brakes and I really don't like mounting the controller as I think it looks tacky. So is it possible or is there even a spot for it to go?

Thanks, Colby

The stock location is under the steering wheel to the left (see photo)

It cannot be added after the fact, I don't have all of the facts as to why, but this has been asked a few times, type it into the search and you will find a few post about it.

My guess is that the lower dash piece with the brake controller hole is not made in Denali trim.

I researched adding the factory brake controller and found old posts documenting lots of parts that needed to be added to make the factory controller work.

I installed a Tekonsha controller and mounted it in the gap between the top of the center console and the bottom of the dash. I slipped it into that location. The lower dash trim pushes down on the controller sufficiently to keep it in place without any mount.

Thats really surprising you cant get the brake controller since I know you can get it on the Yukon Denali.

Thanks everyone, I tried the search but I can never get it to work for me. Looks like I'm mountin under the dash again!

NOT POSSIBLE!

Get a aftermarket one.... Or you will need to trade trucks for one that has one.
