Yep, I cant tell you how many times crap has smacked my mirrors (same size as your originals) on the freeway. Glad I have a bug shield to help with controlling the hood damage at times. If you can, put some of that 3M invisible shield stuff on them...not sure if it is gonna work with the contours of the mirror...

With that color truck they look good painted. If the job is done right, you should be ok with normal wear and tear. Aren't the towing mirrors on the Ford's painted to match the body color?

Sure it would, if installed by a trained professional. They heat the film up so it "stretches" to conform to an area like that.

My paint/body guy does frame off restorations. He has done a lot for our family and we have yet to have a problem.
