Anyone Supercharged the 5.3?

I supercharged my 5.3 using the powerdyne setup.  Are any of you guys running the same setup?  I would like to compare 'notes' and see if anyone else is having the same problems.

I am not familiar with your unit, note that it is a centrifugal, and would only not that it is easy to overboost the 5.3L - monitor it carefully. i have a Whipple and enjoy the instant boost that is possible with a twin screw Lyschom design and love it.

The other caveat is that your weak link is the 4L60E - it will likely let you down beforethe engine assuming you control detonation - you may want to consider water injection to deal with the issue.

What problems are you having?

Well I am having a couple of problems -  The computer that came with the supercharger reprogrammed the trans shift points and firmness and whatever.  But now at moderate throttle  1st - 2nd gear shifts feel horrible its is way to harsh and also it just doesn't feel right.

The Belt slips but I and not sure its slipping across the supercharger it almost seems like there is not enough tension across the rest of the belt. If you are filmiliar with the powerdyne kit the tensioner almost just tensions the belt across the supercharger and the rest of the belt is realtivly lose.

Lastly should I maintain the factory gap .65 (I beleive) on the sparkplugs or should I change that too?.

Thanks.

I'd see if they could change the shift firmness. I believe Superchips is the company that does the programming for Powerdyne (I could be wrong).

It's usually best to do a plug change and decrease the gap when running a supercharger. Each manufacturer has their own recommendation for this.
