Tranny Vibe

I'm have a tranny vibe in a 4l60e after rebuild. Changed 2 converters, still have vibe. Can something in the tranny cause the vibe? Nothing wrong with engine or mounts. Or is the newer converter out of balance. Transmission experts please help. Thanks

Your going to have a slight vibration after wards.... that is to be expected. But a new flex plate and transmission mount will help a lot...

But if it is a really bad vibration, is there any noise with it?

Srry didn't add that it does it at idle. The transmission shifts fine as well. no noise. It shakes like a tire is out of balance.

IDK...... It does not do it moving only idling?

Flexplate and torque converter....... By any chance you did not replace any bolts on the converter to flex plate or flex plate to crank shaft (NEW Bolt)???

Something is causing it to be out of balance. Bolts should be changed in sets not one at the time. This is to insure the bolts will weigh as near the same as possible.

No, all bolts that came off went back on. A tranny place told me about the bearing that is in the pump for the converter. It didn't look bad so I didn't replace it. Tomorrow I'll take the pump out and look at it again. Maybe too much play.

Well took the pump out and found that the bearings have the same play as new ones. Put everything back together. Still have vibe but not as bad. So next is a new flexplate.

changed flexplate, ran motor to check for straightness and the new one was worse then the old one. Put old one back on. I still think it's the converter.

Update

Put forth converter in. This time it's a Recon rebuild one. Same problem. So there must be something wrong with the inside of the tranny. I have no clue what would be wrong.

What all did you change in the transmission? And was this problem there before the rebuild?

upgraded the pump to 13 vane and .490 boost valve, and new clutches and steels, some seals.

I have a similar problem with my stock tranny. Does anyone know if the pushbutton autotrack transfer case have a chain in them? If they do and the chain is worn, could this cause the vibration?
