Stereo Conversion Question

Hi all. I have an 04 Silverado K2500HD W/T package. It originally had a plain old AM/FM radio in it, and I just installed a GM AM/FM/CD/cassette unit out of an 04 Silverado LT. Everything works, but I need the volume cranked to hear anything out of the speakers reasonably. Did the LT have an amp as part of it's setup? Can I add it to my 2500? I rally like the CD, etc, but don't know what to do to get it to work. Is there a different stereo with CD I could use? I want to keep it factory if possible, but can add an amp if I need to.

I've seen a few silverado's of your trim that have a factory silver, rectangular camp behind the glovebox. Now if your truck doesnt have it, and the CD player you took out of the LT did........you'll need to get that amp. Honestly it'd be easier to just throw a 4-channel amplifier in there with 4 new speakers and call it a day.
