Will The Nnbs Xm Add-on Kit Work Without Onstar?

I've installed the single CD sat ready OEM head unit in my 2010 work truck, which turned out to be kind of a nightmare because after getting the radio unlocked I learned I need to install a separate amp to make the unit work right.

 

Now I'm thinking about getting the XM add-on kit and I've reviewed some of the threads here about it. One thread included a pdf of the instructions and it mentions to check the onstar still works correctly at the end of the install. My truck doesn't have onstar. Can anyone tell me for sure whether the kit will work in my non on-star truck?
