Keyless Entry Help. 2000 Denali "classic"

just bought a new remote for my 2000 yukon denali iths the old style tho like first gen escalade. and i cannot get the new key fob to work. i tried the jumper wire method and the key cycle method and i still got nothin.. the only thing i noticed while doing the jumper wire test was there was not a wire going to the #8 pin on the obd port. it just has 6 wires like the early 90 trucks any ideas??????????? thanks
