Hey guys! Brand new to the board. Just baught a brand new 2010 Sierra Crew Cab Z71 SLE...now I want leather! I've read some good things about Katzkin but is there any other high end options? My truck is midnight metallic blue with ebony cloth interior. Any ideas of cool color combos? The only thing I dont like about the current color is that its too black...any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I'm not sure what else is out there for high end leather, all I know of is Katzskin. I just ordered my Katzkins this past monday, they shipped out friday and I should have them installed by the end of next week.....I will post some pics once they come in. As for, color, I ordered a two-tone pattern (black graphite/ash) like in the All Terrain sierras and the Z71 Tahoes.....I think the a solid color looks boring, so anything 2 tone might dress it up a bit.

I recently put Katzkins in my 07 Sierra Crew. Took about 10 hours. They go in the same way they come out. Pretty easy. Katzkin uses the same kind of clips as GM, so no hog rings required. I think they look better than factory. The leather is very soft. The only thing is the side panels and a lot of the back seat are vinyl. They dont tell you this when you order them. It is really hard to tell the difference from the actual leather though. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a simple way to add leather and the price is pretty reasonable.

Thanks guys I think I'll go Katzkin! What about colors? What color would look sharp and stand out on a midnight blue truck? So many options....

that totaly depends on your taste......also another factor is what color is your interior?

Has anyone successfully ordered anything or had any questions answered by Katzkin? I have been trying to contact them via e-mail for several months and I have never received an answer.

just an FYI: for the GM Factory "leather" in the Sierra it's just the front seat's "seating surface" that is leather. The sides and the entire back seat is vinyl. It looks like leather, but if you do a close inspection you can tell from the "softness"

ETA:

The Denali may be different, I'm speaking of my '09 SLT

I dont know if you can order from Katzkins directly. I think they only sell to upholstery shops. I ordered mine from a place in Mississippi called J&D Upholstery. Real nice people down there. I got them in two days. I even managed to get them to include the shipping for free. I had the bottom of the back seats that is usually that carpet material replaced with matching vinyl to keep the dog hair from sticking. That cost $100 to change. All together, shipped, they ran me $650. Worth every penny as far as I am concerned. I did install them myself. Probably would cost a few hundred more to have them installed. Let me know if you have any questions or if you would like pictures.

Yeah lets see those seats!! $650 for a crew cab? That is way lower than the prices that I've come accross. Most places have told me around $1200-$1500 installed...it might be because I want the different color inserts...and the higher end Tuscany leather.

I think that's about right. I remember pricing the covers alone with the Tuscany material on the body and suede inserts and it was $900-1000. So after install $1200 or so sounds ok. Jged, I would like to see some pics also.

So, is installation fairly easy? If I could save a couple of hundred by installing the seatcovers myself, I would be happy.
