Transgo Clutch Spring Kit

Recommended Posts

Posted

I bought a Transgo HD2 Kit for the 4L60E in my 04 Escalade and it came with a 3-4 Clutch Spring Kit to improve transmission performance. I'll be fine with installing the main kit with the given instructions but don't know where to start with the clutch kit. The first step is to remove the input drum- But I don't know where that is located. Once I have the drum out I should be good with the rest of the install.

Thank you.

are you tellin me that there is no pics? it makes no sense to me but if you think the input drum may be where the input to the tranny is ,it lives under the pump,it seems you may not ready for this as technique in removing parts and special tools required ,please rethink doing this yourself,

i have seen many many customer attempts at transmissions as I was a tranny guy for 3 yrs and it costs dearly,

just a thought,im not rippin' on ya dude ,just educating

Here is the picture from my instructions. The 3/4 spring, you do not need to remove the drum, it is in the valve body. I have the same kit but it does not say to remove a drum unless your talking about the plugs for the reverse orifice? Hope it helps

It's not the accumulator in the valve body, it's in the input drum. This kit is for the "3/4 clutch and 2nd band burnup" as stated on the front page of the reprogramming kit instructions. Everything in the kit is in its own little box and has its own instructions. Maybe they forgot to include it in your kit? I think the first guy was right and the input drum is located where the trans connects to the engine. I'd have to put the trans to install it.

Yes that second box under the black tray. They go inside the tranny and are for "high Rev" over 5500 race applications. You will need to take the front pump out and the sun shell along with clutch pack. I dont recommend doing this yourself. Leave it to the pro's.

Agreed. Save it for deeper transmission surgery down the road when you upgrade your sun shell, sprags, 3-4 clutch pack, etc. Enjoy the benefits of the rest of the HD2 kit for now.
