Got smoked by a Ford Lightning...

Tonight (early this morning) I was driving home on a two-lane road and another pickup/SUV pulled up behind me and was doing a nice job of tailgating me. I ignored him like I usually do tailgaters. We were doing between 40 and 50 mph and the speed limit on that stretch is I think 45mph.

It's a fairly curvy road but the first straight stretch we come up on this nut behind me pulls into the left lane to pass me on solid double lines. I didn't speed up-I was sick of him riding my bumper. But he literally blows by me and by now I see it's a red F150 stepside. No big deal but it turns out the car up in front of me is a state cop but the moron went to pass him too before he realizes it!! Needless to say, the blue lights came on and we all pulled over. One of them motioned me to move on. The driver looked like a younger guy and I couldn't see the passenger very well.

It was when I passed them I saw the F150 had a "Lightning" on the side and the white taillight covers! Little bit of excitement so I had to log on and share it. Expensive way to get your kicks in my opinion. :lookaround:

Yeah, you learn, mostly the hard way, over the years to be selective when you go hunting for kills and action.

Those Lightnings are quick. Poor Ford had to supercharge everything to compete with GM normally aspirated products. '03 Cobra, Lightning etc. Without SC, they were always watching our taillights blow by them!
