Cold Air Intake. Do I Need To Change The Exhaust Also?

Recommended Posts

I have a 97 5.7 vortec. I am thinking of putting a cold air intake on it to help increase fuel mileage. Some day in the future (when I can afford to do so) I will also put a true dual exhaust on it.

My big question is, if I do put the intake kit on, is it necessary to change the exhaust?

Or, on the other hand, is it better to change both at the same time?

Any thoughts on this from those who have had experience with this?

You CAN do them seperately but the two compliment eachother very well. If you have the means and the money, it would make more sence to do both at the same time, but again, not completely necessary.
