Hub Centric Rims

Recommended Posts

The rims I was looking at today were 17x8 6x5.5 (139) with 4.5 backspace and 0 offset but were not hub centric and came with acorn style tapered nuts.

Question 1

Will they fit on my truck correctly? (would like to be even with the fender)

Question 2

Will not being hub centric hurt anything?

Thanks

Not sure about the offset question so I will not attempt to answer that, but if the wheels don't have hub rings just find out what rings you need and order them at amazon

I had lugcentric 22s on my 03 Silverado with hub rings and drove it coast to coast, not to mention the other 1,000+ mile road trips I went on with no issues at all.

Hub centric rings are essential to getting the wheel centered correctly prior to tightening the lugs. If a wheel is not available with hub cebtric rings, it is not a correct fit for your vehicle. Generic "lug centric" wheels are very prone to vibrations and suspension / shock / tire wear. It pays to buy something that fits correctly.

They are the correct bolt pattern and are not generic, But I believe I will have to use the hub centric adapters that were posted above. I guess a trip to 4 wheel parts is in order to test fit them on the truck to check offset/backspacing.
