straight pipe, tip, and mud guards installed

I had the exhaust done today, and all I can say is I like it alot. It has great sound, but not too loud in the cab. It gets a bit louder past 2000 rpm. I can't see how people think this is too loud. I have seen lots of trucks that are much louder. BTW, I heard a PSD with straight pipe 4" all the way, and I thought mine sounded much better. The PSD was at the shop when I picked mine up.

I also installed Luverne stainless mud guards. I think they look sharp. Not a bad install either.

Here are some pics:

Nice job on the exhaust and the mudflaps!!!  Thanks for washing it up for the photo shoot too!!!  LOL

Ya, it just rained last night and the jobs were kinda muddy today. I had to wash it just to get the mud flaps on. I had to get them. The rocker panels were getting chips already.

So did you go straight pipe?    I do like that tip but I like the rolled look.

Yep, it is straight piped. I have the 50 gallon drum they call a muffler on the floor in my garage. It really isn't all that loud. There is a 3500 with a 8.1 and straight pipe duals that runs around here. Now that thing is LOUD! When I get above 2000 rpm, mine is almost as loud.

About the tip. The only thing I would have liked is if it was about 2 inches longer, but oh well. The tip alone was $70 the way it was.

Roofer,

Nice looking exhaust tip..where did you get it..what size is it..and who makes it?...trying to get one for my Truck!..thanks

I got it from the exhaust shop that installed it. It is a 5" rolled, slash cut tip. It also has a small drain hole in the bottom of it. I'm not sure exactly where to get one, but I'm sure they are available somewhere.

Yea, I've got my stock muffler of death up on a shelf in the garage.  My two Magnaflow's are straight through although they have some insulation to quiet them a little, but under throttle, it's only really loud in the midrange.  Under WOT, it's actually not to loud.

Looks great, I'll bet it sound even better.

A few years back a buddy of mine had a diesel f350 flatbed Dually with dual straight pipes. To this day I still havent heard anything louder.  :ooh:

Hi Roofer!

Tip looks great, truck looks even better (but then I'm basically biased toward DMAXes!)...I really like the slash cut vs straight-cut (like the Banks 5 incher). I'm thinking about ordering an 18 inch long slash-cut 5 incher from Summit, 'cuz the Banks is pretty stubby (8 inch). I really hate to admit this, but a kid in a street civic with the standard ricer chromed Folger's can commented the other day about how much he liked the Banks tip... ...that's reason enough for me to order the 18 incher, especially with the slash cut!
