Mode Actuator Problem?

What code number is it your asking for? How do I get it?

Forgive Rob....he's pretty much insisting that you take it to someone that has a Tech II scanner and let them check the HVAC system for malfunction codes. He actually means well.....

no ,i want to look it up and see the diag tree as he was vaig on steps 3 or 4 or sumfin ,,,,

I did that and they told me my truck was a little too old for the Tech2 to be of any real help sadly.

 

I went through the rest of the steps in that troubleshooting tree and basically got to the end where it says to replace the HVAC control module. I did and that changed nothing either. I have to be missing something here. I have been able to find other posts here and on the net where others have had the exact same problem after replacing the mode actuator but not one of them goes on to say how it got fixed if it ever did.

Say it isn't so man LOL.....I like the new improved Rob......now, what about GM telling him his vehicle was too old to put the Tech2 on?

tech 2 s have an adaptor to hook up to pre - 95 so they are really full of crap

When I sent him that info on how to troubleshoot his system I did notice nowhere in the GM tech info did it mention a tech2 for his 99. If I pull up my 02 there are instructions on how to command those actuators, etc. w/ a scanner. That's one over my head, I've never seen a tech2 except in pictures.

its an awesome scanner ,we have new GMs here and the army will not buy us a candi module (inline adaptor) so we can use it on 08 and up vehs ,we have a crap solus scanner from snap on

They didnt say they couldnt hook it up just that it wouldnt do much good. It would not be capable of testing the HVAC system or more specifically the actuators.

Yes i did. When i got to the end it suggested replacing the control module. I did and it didnt change a thing everything is still backward and no floor. Bummed
