Mode Actuator Problem?

Yes i did. When i got to the end it suggested replacing the control module. I did and it didnt change a thing everything is still backward and no floor. Bummed

Don't be so bummed just yet.....there's nothing to this but the control panel, wiring, actuator and obviously the doors/linkages.....I'd pretty much sure the control panel has been eliminated since it was swapped and same ole same ole. You bought an aftermarket actuator correct? Are you certain it was for the mode door? Did you manually operate those doors when the actuator was out to make sure nothing was binding? I need to review that troubleshooting chart a little more and I'll get back with you. Might be tomorrow though, little busy this evening.

BTW, what did you use for a 3amp fused jumper wire?

I bought a Dorman actuator pt# 604-101 at a local auto parts store. I asked for a mode actuator. I cant say for 100% certainty that's what I got. I just looked on the Dorman website and they call it an air door actuator. I was under the impression that all 3 of the actuators in my truck are the same. Are they not? Could it just be the wrong dam part? I have rotated the cam stop to stop and it turns easily and I get all the correct positions operating it manually. As far as the 3 amp jumper goes I used a set of blue point jumper wires with a 3 amp fuse in line. Should be fine rite? thanks for all your help.

No they aren't all the same.....and yes I think you've got the wrong part installed. According to www.rockauto.com you've got the temp actuator installed. I won't be held accountable for these numbers but you should have either a GM 52473356 or the Dorman 604113. We are talking about the MODE actuator correct? LOL

Are you Freekin kidding me. LOL. Its been 3 years. This is the 3rd actuator. I have always gone back to the same store I bought the first one at, and with the old one in hand to boot. I will buy another one tomorrow and this time I will be 100% certain it says MODE DOOR ACTUATOR. I will report back as soon as I can. Thanks again. Sometimes its easy to look past the simple stuff.

I wish I could say I was kidding but I'm serious LOL.....I also checked it at www.gmpartsdirect.com and the GM part number I listed crosses over to the Dorman number that I listed as well. The actuator you have installed is the temp actuator.

Ran across this old thread....sound familiar?

Maybe I should start a new thread. The next thing I want to tackle is the EBCM module problem. A year or so ago I had that noise under the truck deal. I pulled the fuse under the hood but now I have been looking at the ABS light and the brake light on. Getting sick of it. I looked at the module under the truck and the lines don't look to pretty. I feel like trying to take that out is going to open a can of worms. Do I have any other options? I thought about breaking the bulbs on the board but that's not really what I wanna do. I would like the brake light to work when there is a problem. The ABS light I could care less about.

I would definitely start a new thread although this one shouldn't be too difficult to solve. I'm on my way out of the door right now but do a search here about the ABS problems and google Module Master.

first thing to do is get it scanned ,we can then go as far as possible with the diag tree ,then it will be a guess ,,,,,maybe a broken wire ,,,,

so do that and put the code here
