Just Picked Up My New 6.2.........

I just picked up my '10 GMC SLT CC w/6.2. Same onyx black as my '07 but with titanium interior instead of the tan color.

*I will post a pic later today.*

The power is just amazing when compared to my '07 CC 5.3 & 4 speed tranny.

Not to mention, it "seems" to be getting slight bit better MPG. I averaged 17.2 on the highway @70 in my 5.3. The new truck computer reads 18-18.5 at 70. (I understand the computer can be wrong. I will be doing a manual calculation when I take a trip here in a week or so.)

I also understand that i should be running 91 octane in the 6.2 for the best power and efficiency. And I am willing to bet that the dealership did not fill it with 91 before i picked it up. lol

Oh. And i love the new bluetooth handsfree feature. I worked from my truck sometimes and its nice to have. (I am actually on a conference call over BT as I type this from my laptop)

Congrats :rollin:

My 2010 Denali is my first fullsize truck so I can´t compare it to a 5.3l but I am very happy with the 6.2 so far. I´ve picked it up last wednesday and made 580 mls so far....don´t want to rev the engine higher than 3000rpm as long as I do not have more than 1000mls on it..and maybe after I made the first oilchange around 2000mls...

Congrats, enjoy the 6.2. Black is the way to go. I need to put a good coat of was on mine. Everything is so good right now with the new truck.

One thing I don't like about the '10, why did they move the door handles? They make the cup holder even more useless now bc the stupid door handles are in the way.

Congrats on the new truck. I am luvin my Black 6.2 Also. As for MPG? It is getting worse every tank. Maybe I should stop dusting off powerstrokes and challengers! Please stop with the mpg talk on the 6.2 it should be spg ( :rollin: per gallon!) And the exhaust note is perfect. And the door handles? I keep opening the rear window instead of the front, I think they slid the controls forward from my 07.

And in reference to my MPG per the computer (again, I will do a manual calculation soon), I drove a 55 mile interstate loop around the city when i left the dealership. This route is about 75% flat with 25% rolling hills.

55mi @ 70mph using cruise. Approx. 1850rpm

Results = 17.7 MPG

If these results turn out to be the same with the manual calculation, I will be stoked to get 17.7

I didnt buy this truck for gas mileage, but if it will get what my 5.3 got, I will be happy enough!

My GM stainless nerf bars, bed cover, and skid plates will be going on tonight.

Then once I get the taxes paid, I will be getting the windows tinted and a leveling kit installed.

Dumb question time, why did you get rid of your old truck? Win the lotto or something? :rollin:

not a dumb question.

Actually, I got a $46k sticker truck for $34k out the door with nothing out of pocket except $1150 on taxes.

In my opinion, I couldn't beat this deal.

Not to mention, my payment is $50 less a month with the same fianance terms through GMAC.

What a minute, What? How in the world did you pull that one off? In CA there acting like it's the good old days when everyone paid sticker. I would jump on that one deal too. Were you looking (seriously or just kind of playing around)?

Actually, I was working a deal for my father-in-law on a new Sierra that he took home on Tuesday.

So no, I wasnt really looking, but I drove my truck up there to look at the trucks for my FIL and the sales guy that I dealt with for my FIL wanted me to trade my truck and of course kept bugging me about every 15 minutes it seemed like. (The normal car salesman)

So I finally told him, if I were to trade, it would be on my terms only. And since I wasnt looking to trade, I didnt care if he didnt like what I was asking of him.

He said ok, what are your terms. I told him what I would do, and he ran to his sales manager (like always :rollin:) and came running back out to me 5 minutes later and said they would do it. I was like wait a minute, lets back up here. I went over each of my terms slowly and clearly and made sure he understood them. They were all there, and his manager agreed to it.

So I now have a new 2010 SLT CC 6.2 sitting in my garage.

Only downside is I extended my payments 2 more years as I owed three years on my '07.

The breakdown is as follows:

2010 sticker = 45,700

Dealer took 1,600 off sticker up front, so '10 truck asking price 44,100

owed on 2010 = 23,100

dealer gave me for my '07 = 25,500

GM Rebate = 5,000

Rebate for owning a toyota (wife) = 1,000

GM Mastercard points rebate = 1,500

Total downpayment = 9,900 (Rebates, points, and tradein)

So 44,100 - 9900 = 34,200

Financed 34,200 @ 4.89%

Payment $50 lower per month than I was paying for my '07.

I guess they are really wanting to sell the '10 models getting ready for the '11 models at the end of th summer.
