You'll be fine with the Wagners. Cannot comment on the Centrics.

How many miles?

(90K on my '03. Still meat left. Moderate driving, rarely heavy loads)

never used wagners, all i can say is don't go stingy on brake pads...i learned my lesson lol

Just got my 08 truck with 43k miles on it and the front pads had less than 80\1000ths of an in left. Midas replaced them with wagners. I made it a point to ask what kind they use. On the other hand on my wifes VW Jetta she had 106k miles on it and only needed rear brakes. Midas said the fronts had about 10k left on them.

a truck is going to eat up pads faster just because of the raw weight being put on the pads...

i would go with ac delco myself, they have deals normally i think 75 bucks for front pads?

for the guys who got hawks. did you bed the brake pads? i heard that since hawk brake pads are more high performace that it is more critical to bed them than stock pads.

i don't have them on yet but the pads didn't say anything but the ebc rotors said how to bed them in

Note:

Hawk Performance burnishes its Performance Ceramic brake pads as a final step in the factory, but all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Burnishing Instructions

  1. After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.

  2. Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.

  3. DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!

  4. Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.

  5. After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

I bedded mine. It felt sloppy when I was bedding them, but once I was done with the 12 stops and they cooled off they stop great. I would say bedding the pads is very important.

I got a set of powerslot rotors and hawk ceramic pads waiting to go on. I have always heard great things about hawk pads.
