Ok I can't seem to figure out whats wrong. I have problems when I am in overdrive and give it some light throttle input it bucks and shudders. I have to floor it so it kicks down to third and goes good. There is also a little shutter when idling in drive, i have to pop it in neutral when idling to make it idle smooth.

 

The distributor cap/rotor,wires, and plugs all been done recent. The cap/rotor are JEGS, wires are JEGS red hot 8mm, and plugs AC Delco platinum. I think ill pull the cap and check things out to make sure those parts are ok, I hope these JEGS parts arent causing problems they seem like decent quality. Also could a plug be fouled or something, I used seafoam in the gas tank a few months back and recently used a bottle of shell fuel system cleaner. Or are we talking issues with the trans, whether it be some electrical connection or its a bigger problem.

 

Any help much appreciated, this must have happened to someone else before.

my '98 was doing same thing not as bad as yours when idleing or crusing i would hear n feel a miss every one too two seconds

look at the distribtor rotor you took off the truck is the burnt/dicolored area on the rotor tip just on one end of the rotor tip

mine was so i turned the distrbutor alittle TADA the truck idles smooth
