4wd Problem?

Ive got an 07 classic sierra with a levelling kit installed, running 33 11.5 R17 Dick Cepeks, Ive had it in now for quite awhile and have been amazed with the difference in ride. I had the alignment all done and replaced two bad front wheel bearings AND CV's less than 5k ago. I had a bit of brake drag on the passenger side but its all been fixed since so its basically a new front end up there. However when in 4wd low and high when my steering is maxed out a metallic noise is coming from what seems to be the front end. Any ball park ideas on what I could be looking at?

If its doing this on a hard surface I would say it is normal. If its on snow, ice, mud or soft sand, it could be a problem. The front and rear axles are turning at the same rate, when you go into a sharp turn there is no differential action between the two, whcich causes the system to bind up as the front axle is being forced to cover a longer distance at the same rate as the rear axle, extra noise would be normal in this case. If the noise lessens on soft surfaces which allow the two axles to slip more and absorb the differences between them, then all is good.

Thanks guys, its on soft surfaces as well Im no mechanic but fairly skilled with a wrench, I suppose I should have worded it a bit better but its worse when the steer is maxed but occurs all the time. My thoughts on it are possibly where the front axle locks in or something with the transfer case. As per the cv and the wheel bearings on cost I live in Canada but also live fairly close to ME. I purchased the 1 cv and wheel bearing with the cv having a life time warranty and the wheelbearing 1 year they set me back about 500 bucks for the pair and I put them in myself.
