Auto Climate Control

Hello all, I think I know the answer, but I figured I would post anyways. I have a '09 Silverado Extended Cab LT that didn't come with the automatic climate control unit, instead it came with the manual controls. I just picked up a auto climate control unit on ebay for '09 Silverados for $45. I am 95% sure the truck will not support this new unit but I figured what the heck, I'd give it a shot. I didn't know if maybe all the trucks came pre-wired the same behind the dash or not.

 

Any thoughts?

I would think you would need the little fan vents that are in the headliner that sniff the air to determine the temp so that it can make changes to the system. Without them it wouldn't know what the current temp is nor how to adjust it. This is only a guess. I thought about going the reverse way by installing the manual controls in place of the automatic controls but am unsure if it would work also.
