First snow in AV

Yep,.. first snow in Michigan, and my subdivision is snow covered and slippery. I go around a corner, hug the outside of the turn cause an oncoming car is loosing it,.. into MY LANE.

And its too late,.. mailbox at 2:00...

Clip the box with the mirror, and BAMB into the rear quarter panel. :D

Look at the truck.. and well I will ALWAYS get plastic cladding!!!

Not a nick or scratch in the truck,.. just a mailbox at a 45 degree angle! :D

And oh yea,.. the Mickey Thompson tires came off as soon as I got home. Not too good in the snow.

Sorry to here about your "Too Close Encounter".  Big tires and snowy roads don't mix...  Glad the only damage was the mirror.

For as much of an eye sore that cladding is, I'd say it's the best thing chevy has done since they aren't putting in fiberglass panels like saturn.  But, it protects the side of the trucks great from what I've heard and unless a semi hits you w/ his door I doubt you'll be complaining about door dings.

"Av - 1, Mailbox - 0.  Details at 11:00."

Our sub's snow service had the streets salted so quickly that it's only been wet here.  I did go about 140 miles today on freeways and country roads in MI.  Some of the east-west roads were a bit slick, but I never lost traction.

So BBA, do the stock tires and rims go back on?

Stock tires / rims went on right after the little incident

Dang mailbox shouldn't have been there is the first place.   :D

I also have a winning record against mailboxes.  Last year I sent ours through the snowblower and into the neighbors field.  I've also taken off the neighbors with the field cultivator when a bimbo forced me over into it.

Mailboxes are weak!!!  Show no fear against them, as they are easiliy conquered!   :D

Now I would have paid to see that!  ROTFLMAO!  I've got to say that I have a pretty good record with mailboxes, haven't even come close to hitting one yet.  Probably just cursed myself saying that though.

My thing seems to be hitting hidden metal bars with mowers.  Done that twice last year.   :notice:

Yep, dang dual hub on the 7220 ripped it off the post when I moved ahead.  I put the tractor in reverse and started backing up for another pass.  Right when the blower caught it is when I saw it, too late.  It didn't go up through the chute, but that auger caught it and sent it right across the road.  Thank God no cars were coming because it was like it had been shot out of a cannon.

OH what stories us plow boys could tell from the seats of our tractors.  I caught a mail box between the duals on our John Deere once could hear it go clang and by the time I could look for the noise it was already out of sight and then it would go clang again took about 5 minutes for it to get knocked out from between the tires.
