2001 2500hd Towing Mirrors Question

Im looking for some input on which towing mirrors people are using on there trucks not equipped with factory tow mirrors. I found some slide ons from etrailer for $60 but seems like there cheaply made. I was considering getting some factory style tow mirrors but dont want to lose the heat and power and also im not spending hundreds of dollars either. Does anyone have any recommendations for me that wont break the bank? And if so how much and where i can get them?

I had a set of slide on CIPA towing mirrors on my 2006 HD which worked great with the standard factory mirrors. I believe I paid around $ 40.00 through Summit Racing online. The key with them is to not over crank the knob on the outside of the mirror. They are definetly worth a try for the money.

have used the $50 slide on mirrors. don't know which brand they were but they worked great. like previous post. don't overtighten the bolt..

if you dont want to spend hundreds you wont be getting the factory power tow mirrors. But if you change your mind you can get a set of tow mirrors off of an 06 and hook up all the wires to get the power/heat/turn signals functioning.

I am considering doing the same thing on my 03 and started to take off the driver's side to get a look at the wiring before I ordered but couldn't figure out how to get the plastic housing separated from the metal bracket on the backside of the mirror. Any suggestions?

well the ones i have on my 01 are the 06 camper sytle but without the turn signal. I got the.m off ebay and they are power and heated..direct bolt on.. $200.....just need the heater control with rear defrost to activate the heated mirrors....the factory one from an 06 will not work the wiring plug is different...HOPE IT HELPS
