Tranny Problem?

today while starting up my truck i heard a loud clunk when i shifted into reverse. when i started moovin i noticed that my speedo wasnt working and that my rpm was at 2500. wehn i shifted into drive the speedo didnt work till the tranny shifted into 2nd. but to get there the truck reved over 3000 before it shifted when it usally shifts at 2000. whats wrong with my truck????

 

the truck is a 1998 gmc k1500 with a 4l60e trany

you may have an electrical problem as the speedo was/is inop and you can't possibly expect a fix over the Internet for a transmission concern that seems electrical,stop freaking out and get a diagnoses from a trans professional....and breath for christ sake! lol,

 

is your check engine light on?

 

is the oil brown ?(changing the oil and filter will not fix it !!)

 

baby steps and take it to a tech, dealers have tranny guys and have done a million 4L60 diags/repairs/overhauls.. i did a ton
