A/c Recirc Question

I have a 2005 Silverado LT - Z71 with the auto-climate control. When fan is on high speed and A/C is on, engaging the recirc switch does nothing with the air volume and temperature. Other vehicles I have owned always had a change in air volume when the recirc switch was engaged. Usually you can hear the "door" that controls the recirc air move when you push the button. How can I tell if the system is funtioning correctly or not? Thanks.

you can tell by having a tech hook up a scanner that shows door parameters and any codes that may be in the module

I have an Equus Products Innova CanOBD2 scan tool - would this be able to show me door parameters?

You don't need a scan tool to tell if the system is going into the recirculate mode or not. It's like you said, the door closes and the system air flow increases and so does the noise. It should actually blow colder as well. Unfortunately w/o a scan tool it's going to be hard to diagnose the problem. Barring any type of wiring issue you've probably either got a bad actuator or control module. If it's the actuator I'd learn to live with it.
