Adjust Front Power Windows?

2005 Chevy Z71 Crew Cab:

Noticed today that my front passenger window hangs on the rubber occassionally and does not go all the way up.

It appears that the window is too far forward and barely sits behind the rubber on the rear of the window frame. If there is outward pressure (from driving), the window is sucked "out" and catches on the rubber - keeping it from going all the way to the top.

Is there any wat to adjust the window and move it to the rear of the window opening, thus keeping it centered between the front rubber and rear rubber?

It not binding on the rubber like it needs lube, it is catching on the rubber because as it goes up, it comes out of the rubber.

The rubber is the vertical "track" in the wondow opening.

The glass is in the 'goove' at the bottom, but as it goes up, the glass comes out of the groove and by the time it gets towards the top, it is outside of the rubber 'track'.

If the glass could be moved towards the back of the truck, it would stay trapped in the groove and guided all the way up.

Hard to explain.

I might try to take some picts tomorrow to clarify.

I have seen what you are describing, you may need to do one of two things:

1: adjust the sliding track inside the door

2: adjust/tape/mod the ends of the rubber track or replace them all together.

My 2006 passenger window has done something similar. I notice that it only happens when the window is down a few inches and then the door is closed. The window jumps out of the upper track and doesn't seal correctly. I also notice that driving with the window down a few inches, I can see reflections in the window showing the window rattling around quite a bit. It's only the passenger window. So I usually have the window up or all the way down!

Roll the window all the way up Pull the door panel off, there are three screws to find, one on bottom of the door and two behind the pull lever that you open the door with. Note, when pulling the door panel it is necessary to unplug the speaker, light and door and window switches, it is necessary to know where these wires and plugs come through the clear plastic door cover, use a sharpie and mark the holes the wires come through to save time on re-assembly. Once the panel is off pull the clear plastic cover off or at least remove it enough to see inside the door. Use a flashlight. You will see the track, track mount bolts etc. You should be able to find your problem by checking this out.
