Headache Bars, Light Bars, Bed Racks

I can't decide which headache bar will look good on my 09 1500 6.5' bed.

I dont see many trucks with them and its hard to buy one on line without seeing it on a truck.

The ones I'm looking at right now are the GO Rhino.

What do you like and dislike about the headache bar.

I don't have a rack but have considered getting one from time to time. I would get a back rack if I was to get one a friend of mine has one on his f350 and it looks good. A quick google search yeield this

 

Personally I'm not a fan of the Go Rhino style you posted but thats just my opinion.

not bad looking. the big question i would have, is it show only, or roll over protection rated..i remembor 20+yrs. ago a setup like that came out calling it a roll bar.. it rolled alright right into the bed crushing the cab..just something to think about. if it's rated for roll over than..

I have a friend thats a volunteer firefighter that had a f350 with one of those backracks on his truck. Had a bad rollover when he was on his way to a call during the winter, hit some black ice and rolled 2 times. The backrack kept the cab from crushing in, he now swears by em.

Back Racks are made locally or just in Ontario across the border, everybody who needs an exposed bed for work here (plow guys, landscapers, contractors, etc) has a back rack, the rest generally have tonneaus or caps. They are a quality product.

I have never heard anyone have anything bad to say about the fit or finish of a BackRack product.

http://www.ranchhand.com in my opinion is the best for durability. Not some cheap something just for show. My dad hit a deer with his Dmax and had to get the front end fixed so he did a RH front end; he has hit 3 since then and you cant even tell he has hit anything and the RH cost 50 more than the new bumper with all of the labor and parts.....Its paid for itself...at least 3 times

 

http://www.southwestfabricators.com also makes a great product and not quite as much as Ranch hand but as stout. I have a SWF grill gaurd on my 09 and it is as stout as the other, i guess it all come down to what you want to spend.

The best ones I've seen are about 3" round tubing that follows the contour of the back of the cab with little to no other bars, except for one across the front of the bed. I've looked off and on for awhile on the web without being able to find anything similar. Pretty understated and utility-minded, but stout.
