Hypertech Question

I have a Hypertech Programmer for my 03 1500hd. If I sell it, it can only be used on a 2003 truck right? Can it be used on other years?

My Hypertech says only years 04-06, So I would assume yours is something like that. BTW did you like your hypertech? Mine kinda sucks. I just ordered a tune from Blackbear Performance.

When I bought the truck it was already tuned. I didnt like it. I noticed a little power increase, but I don't like the idea of being able to change your computer. I'm sure I would screw it up somehow. I would rather sell it and have it professionally tuned, if I were to go that route.

I have run Hypertechs on my last 2 trucks. They are ok for what they are designed to do. My main reasoning was speedo correction with a mild tuning tweak. If performance is your main goal, you are by far better off doing a custom tune.

Use your Hypertech product code to check which model/years it will program on their website. Make sure you deprogram the truck it was used on before you sell it, otherwise it's useless to the new owner.

I returned all my settings to stock so it should be unlocked. Thanks for the info.

If you program the original truck back to stock you can use it on another truck in the years it says it will work on. Make sure you select the back to stock option.

I will tell you this I would keep it, I love mine and Hypertech has a lifetime guarantee mine went bad and they sent me a brand new one. The only problem is I can't return to stock if I wanted to, as the program was in the truck when the programmer went bad.
