Doing Research On Tpms Can You Help?

I have a 2006 Sierra Crew Cab Z71 and have added the TPMS to the tires and a Passenger Door Module that reads TPMS signals. I purchased it off of a guy here that said they would work for my truck but I have not had much luck.

The problem I am getting is that through a Tech II tool I am reading only 1/2 tire pressure. I wanted the tire pressures to read out on the DIC like I have seen in other Tahoe/Yukon/Suburbans. All I get with the current set up is a "LOW TIRE" message on the DIC and a light on the dash. I read here on the forum that another member had a direct parts swap for his 2006 Sierra and now has the tire pressure settings on his DIC. I have PM'd that person and he must not visit the forum anymore as I have never heard back from him.

I am starting to think that I may have the wrong parts entirely for both the PDM and individual sensors. So what I need from you good people is a little survey of how the TPMS works in your Tahoe Suburban or Yukon that are of the older body style.

Please post year/model/and if you are able to read individual tire pressures on the instrument panel

Also if anyone has added TPMS to their truck I'd love to hear how you did it and if you can read the pressures off the dash.

Thanks

I hate to break it to you, but the hassle of TPMS simply isn't worth all the effort you're going to. Never once have I had the TPMS reading come out accurate on any of the vehicles I've had it on. Checking it with an accurate old-school gauge always comes up with a different reading, and thus is still my preferred method. That includes three GMT360 SUVs which have the same TPMS and DIC setup as the GMT800 trucks (which, yes, do allow you to read the tire pressures from the IPC display).
