Yes they did, and it only came with the 6.0L, all of the GM documentation specifically says it's an HD. There is also an LD version at only 7200lb GVW and the 6.0 wasn't available. HD's are 8600lb.

 

From the GM VIS:

Merchandising Model : CK25953 -2000 SILVERADO LS 2500 HD PICKUP 4DR

 

They didn't add "HD" badges until then. Badges are just badges. The GVW did go up to 9200lb with those badges.
