Fuel Leak In Return Line

Recommended Posts

i have a '01 1500 4x4 HD 4 door with 6.0, 170k miles. been smelling gas for the last few months while truck would be idling. discovered the return line has a pinhole in it right before it connects to a rubbr line before going to the top of tank. is there anything that can seal this leak (tried jbweld because i discovered leak while on a 1400 mile trip and that didnt work) or do i need to replace the entire steel return line? What is the connection type between the steel and rubber lines. it looksw similiar to a quick disconnect.. Also i've noticed when i let the truck sit for 2 or 3 days, it takes a few seconds more to crank, as if there was no fuel at the injectors. Could this hole in the return line cause the fuel pressure to drop. i normally only drive this truck 2 days a week.
