Gmt900 Broken Interior Door Handle

OK, so my mother was riding with me the other day and she went to get out of the passenger side and the door got caught in that spot where it really isn't open all the way, but not really shut good either. So, she pulls and pulls and the door wouldn't open. I jumped out and opened it from the outside. That night, I pulled the door panel off and realized that the mechanism to the inside door handle was broken. There is a small part that holds the ball at the end of a wire (that opens the door) and a chunk had broken off. So, basically there is nothing to keep the ball in the housing. The piece looks metal, but I can't imagine that it broke that easily. It is held into the door panel with a rod and a cotter pin.

 

Anyway, I may need to take a pic to show you what I am talking about, but the question is whether anyone has a part number for that? I can't imagine it would cost that much, but you never know. I am out of my bumper to bumper warranty so I would much rather fix this myself than to spend a ton of $$$ to have the dealership fix it.

Yeah, your part is not on gm direct parts....maybe hit the parts guy up at the dealer...or JUNKYARD it

I'd search ebay or somewhere before going to the dealer. Check our new sponsor Schram Auto Parts and see what they can do. Shouldn't be that expensive. Good luck!

Which trim level do you have? The truck version or the luxury? And post a pic if possible. Is the broken piece on the door panel itself or the cable end?

Same problem as me. What was the outcome. This is driving me insane. I cant find the part on a diagram.
