Small Rock In Trans. Pan

I have a '99 c-2500 5.7 4l80e with 89000 on it. Yesterday when i was changing the trans. fluid/ filter a small ROCK (i would guess btwn .125 and .25 of an inch) came out of the trans pan. I heard it plop into the drain pan as i was draining the fluid. My first thought was, o crap, somthin broke off in there. But i found the think picked it up and examined it, it appeared to be an oddly shaped, small gray rock. The rest of the fluid looked clean. (it also appears to have been serviced before, judging by the filter not being a GM one and gasket not being a floppy rubber one) Just wondering if anyone else had a rock in their fluid? oh and how hot does your trans pan usually feel?? After i changed it i drove it, checked the level and checked for leaks, when i felt the pan i could barley get my hand on it due to the heat from it. i had driven about 8 miles in stop+go traffic at 85-90 degrees out tho

Thanks

I've never found a lucky rock in my tranny before. Yes the pan gets really hot, just like everything that has to do with the engine and drivetrain.

yup, i looked all around the trans for leaks and couldnt find any (knock on wood) and it did come out the drain plug, so i couldnt have accidently dropped it in there upon pan removal, so thats still a mystery to me. Unless the PO got it in there when he did the trans fluid
