Spectre Performance Cai

Anybody have any experience with the spectra performance CAI for 99-06 silverado? They installed one of these kits on an episode of TRUCKS and it looks like you can pick one up for just over $165.

I picked one up at AZ for $135. Took me about an hour to install. I love it. Got a full MPG more after the install and a nice throaty sound when I hit the gas. The install is simple and the components are top quality. Definately the best kit going for the price in my opinion... I can post pics later if your want.

Yea I would love to see pics. The one they installed on TRUCKS looked great and they usually use pretty good parts. Can't beat the price either for a full kit.

I have the intake for my 06 with the 5.3L. The downside to the kit is it is prone to heatsoak and the filters are COMPLETE junk. I bought the kit, swapped to a K&N filter, added a heat shield jacket from Summit, and cut my old filter box down to protect/insulate the filter from the hot engine bay. I didn't feel comfortable leaving the K&N completely exposed because I like to go offroad some and I did not want to drown it with muddy water. I confirmed the heatsoak issue using my Aeroforce watching the IAT vs ambient air temps. I think going with a better kit in the first place would have been cheaper, easier, and cleaner looking. The K&N filter I am currently running is the same filter that comes in the K&N intake kits.

I believe that the airaid tube with everything else stock is more than enough to satisfy the urge for the mod!

Thanks for the replies and pics! I am not looking to get one but after seeing them install one on TRUCKS and the nice price I was interested to learn more about them. Cool stuff.
