I can't understand you, because when I read it, it sounds like you're shouting. But, yes, I would definitely go after market on a radio. The tech two will not fix your CD player from ejecting as in those models the radio doesn't even have a class 2 data line going to it. Those radios are not vin protected, that started in 03'. They, do, howevetr have theftlock, but as long as it's not programed, it won't be a problem.

Take a pic, but I don't believe so. As I think it will be too big for the hole. I don't think GM offered a 1.5 din(the type that's in a 2001) 6 disc cd changer. But if you take a pic of the connectors and the face of it, I can tell you for sure.

Oh, I get you. The dealer can hook there tech 2 up and find the vin in the ecm and then program the radio with that vin and it should work. Weather they will or not, I don't know.

how does all of that work as in the tech 2. they plug it into the truck and do they upload everything to gm using a wireless unit inside the tech 2 or is it something more like a power programmer where you can just change everything right there in your hand???

It like a power programmer, they hook it to the truck and read what's on the computer.

so they dont transfer any info to gm or upload anything to them via the internet because thats what some other guy was telling me

If they update your ecm, then yes they MIGHT connect to the internet. But, it's nothing you should worry about, just let em' do it or your radio won't work.
