6.2 L Max Pkg Rare In Ontario?

Hi there, I'm currently trying to buy a 2010 or 2011 Sierra or Silverado. Every dealership I have went to and asked for the 6.2L have looked at me like I have 2 heads. None of them have any on the lot. When they do a search for one They only get about 2 or 3 matches which of course dont match my requirements. Wrong colour or not having the Max trailering pkg. Funny thing is that the 3 dealerships I went to all came up with different search results. What gives? Are they not all on the same inventory list?

I knew the 6.2L would be rare but not this rare. One dealership said they dont order them in because they dont sell. WTF?Its the best performing 1/2 ton on the market.

If anyone knows of a black or white 6.2L w/ Max trailering pkg for sale please let me know. Or should i just factory order a 2011? I doubt i will get even close to the $11,000 price adjustment they are offering for the 2010's right now.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

:D:seeya::lol::lol: LOL..... all the dealers are on the same inventory list... any dealer in Canada can search for any truck available at any dealership in Canada.... they did not tell you about all of the trucks available because they don't want you to think that these trucks are really out there in any supply ... and they each likely have other dealerships that they will not deal cooperatively with....

and bottom line... they want to move the inventory on THEIR OWN lot ... they really don't care what you want to buy ... they only care about they want to sell.

..just for my own curiosity I checked the website inventory for one of the three GM dealers in Saskatoon (Sherwood Chevrolet) ...

... out of about 75 1500's in their inventory there are about a dozen with 6.2L ... I only looked for 2010 white or black 6.2L 1500 trucks (ignored the silver ones and any other engines) and a quick scan through the inventory and the spec sheets I found two white and one black Silverado 1500 LTZ with 6.2L Max Trailering ... all three were extended cabs ... the crew cabs in their inventory list did not have the Max Trailering, but indicated HD trailering special equipment ... their list price on the the extended cabs was $51,920... I have no idea if this includes any current incentives or not.

Maybe a quick phone call to them... and a plane ticket to Saskatoon could get you on your way in a new truck.

boyer in Ajax has a blue ext cab 6.2 4x4, but no max trailer package. I am trying to find a 6.2 2wd without max trailer.

+1 on that one. You should be able to check dealer invertory from the GM Canada site. That allowed me to find the dealer with my ride, and approach them directly. Most places DO NOT want to sell you a truck they don't have on the lot. That requires them buying/transfering it from another dealership. All about the $$$ at the end.

The 6.2 is only available with the NHT pkg or Z71 pkg.

    • This is a really late reply but I just found this thread. They won't sell the hinges. I've gone 7 rounds with them. Their solution is to buy a new cover. I'm about to buy a new cover and it won't be a Bakflip. It also won't be from realtruck.com.
    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
