I have a 1994 Chev 4wd truck that has not been modified. I have the following problem. 4wd high range works fine and the indicator light works fine. When I shift to 4wd low range, the the 4wd indicator light works but I only have 2wd low range. The front wheels are not pulling. Is this an internal problem with the differential?

If 4 hi works, then the diff is fine. It must be binding trying to get the vehicle into 4 low, because getting a vehicle into four lo is hard, you have to put it in neautral and sometimes rock the truck. But, look at it this way, the 4 lo only turning the back tires equals some good peel out with the tires smoking.

Any recomendations on how to fix the problem?

i disagree, the front diff actuator comes on in 4h and 4L ,if the t case is in 4L and does NOT rotate the frt wheels, they will NOT rotate in 4h,

proper diagnoses of the system is required ,remove the diff actuator and put it in 4h ,the donkey dink should go out,its powered by the switch on top of the t case and has a "4wd" fuse somewhere ,

thru the switch to the actuator ,very simple .get a schmatic and manual, follow the circuit ,

good luck, donkey dinks fail all the time
