Im making arrangments for my lift and wheels this week. On the way home im going to the exhaust shop. Were doing a cat back system and he will do whatever I want. Im having a hard time on which mufflers to go with. a K&N system will be in the near future.

Im your opinion what mufflers are best and why

Thanks in advance

I have a Flowmaster 50 delta flow single in/dual out on my 06 5.3 and I think it sounds great. The tips split around the spare tire and straight out underneath the bumper. I avoided the 40 series mufflers because all of my friend's trucks with them "continuously pop" when they get on it. I think mine has a nice tone and doesn't make it hard to hear in the cab while riding, unless I get on it.

Thanks. I dont want them so loud that it becomes annoying in the cab

Well for 1, it rusted out in under 2-1/2 years. Second was power loss. It sounded great, but sound doesn't make power and mileage. I installed Magnflow and saw an instant improvement with mileage and torque and still sounded good, just not as loud. There also was terrible drone while towing my camper and I didn't have that issue with my magnaflow exhaust.

Another pro was the cat back system was all stainless including SS bands for just a hair over $400 for the entire cat back.

Yes, Mandrel bent :fingersx:

Thanks so much. Seems to just make plain old sense to go with the Magnaflow... 1 time and done.

I also plan on a K&N setup soon after. Im sure the both combined will help performance that I will loose with the 35's and a 6 inch lift

Ive seen 7whp more magnaflow over flowmaster

that coupled with an intake system like K&N can do nothing but help... I wonder how performance will be hindered by the tires and lift?

This truck made 2 pulls on dyno and then added magnaflow and did 2 more pulls and 7whp both were 3" catbacks
