What To Do About Shaking Driver Mirror

Hello fellow GM truck owners. I hoping someone may have an answer as to what to do about a shaking driver side mirror. I bought it off of eBay a while back and now it shakes so much that I have had to put pieces of foam around the edges to prevent it. It is the style that has the puddle lamp, power folding, turn signal in mirror, and auto dimming. When I last washed it, I was only using a sponge on the mirror and it came off! Only the wires kept it from falling. I managed to 'snap' it back in place, but it is still really loose. Can I replace the motor that it attaches too, or maybe just the mirror? I check on a new one, but I would like to find another solution if possible.

Thanks all! :fume:

I have the same issue but mine is with the factory mirror. I have been looking to pick up a set of those mirrors like you are talking about to take care of the vibe and because I want the turn signal/puddle lamps.

Any ideas on how to fix the vibes in the mean time sure would be appreciated.

My side view mirrors also vibrate. From what I've been told, this can be corrected by tightening the screws behind the mirror glass. They're torx bits and I don't have the right one of course.

For manual mirrors, just tilt it down all the way, then you can get a screwdriver in behind the top and pry the clips off the rotating base. Then go around the whole mirror releasing the clips. Not sure on power mirrors because I don't have them but it might be the same.

Make sure the bolts and screws are tight. If you still have shaking. Silicon the cap on the front down. Wind flowing through the mirror can cause the glass to shake and or come loose and fall out.
