I know your not supposed to shoot 3in shells in a 2 3/4 barrel. But what about the other way round 2 3/4 out of a 3 in magnum barrel ? It's a 20g o/u

You should be good to go.

I have a Mossberg 3.5" Magnum that I shoot 3" and 2 3/4" with.

Yep, just like Brad said, no problems with 2 3/4" in a 3" chamber. And you shouldn't even be able to close the gun if you tried to stuff a 3" shell in a 2 3/4" chambered o/u.

You should never have to worry about damaging the gun going between the two. The only issue someone might have would be feed problems on an automatic. And generally you only see that on a 3 1/2 chambered 12ga trying to shoot light 2 3/4 loads.

the barrel should be marked for what sizes it can take...my 870 magnum says 2 3/4 and 3inch...the size limitations are there so you don't put a 3inch shell into a 2 3/4 barrel and have it blow up in your face...which most newer barrels won't take a size shell it wasen't built to withstand

Check the barrel/manual on the gun.

Some barrels are backbored and you can't use a 2 3/4 in a 3 1/2" gun, or any slug. Also, on my 935, the 2 3/4 wont' cycle the action reliably

I’m not familiar enough with the Charles Daly to know if any of the other brands of extension tubes will fit this gun. If you know anyone with a Mossberg or Remington shotgun, you might ask them to let you try their tube on your shotgun to see if it fits. You might get lucky.
