Hi evreyone,

I live in Germany and drive a 99 Tahoe, due to the gas prices converted to LPG. :)

Very few truck related forums here and so I got here, actually solving problems with a rough running engine.

welcome! whats LPG i have no idea...

Ooops, sorry, LPG means I don't run my car with Gasoline, but with gas.

More or less the same stuff you run your stove with when you do camping.

Half the price or even less than gasoline here in Europe.

ohh thats interesting... what affect did it have on the engine? less power or anything?

A little less power (almost nothing with modern LPG systems) and a little higher fuel consumption. But LPG is less half price....

BUT when there are problems, they come much more through.

For example when the engine is not running properly when driving with fuel, this will be much more dramatically when running on LPG.

I recognized after conversion, that something with the engine management is wrong. When asking for more power, for example accelerating, the engine starts humping around (LPG).

I examined a very hard change in ignition timing (when accelerating it's going from 32 degrees to 15).

When driving with fuel this is much less recognizable.

Now I'm busy changing sensors (tomorrow I'll change the knock sensor).

By the way - do I drain engine coolant when I remove the sensor (in the engine block near the starter)?

I lived in Germany two years back in 1990-1992, some of my favorite memories... my two first diesels were a VW and later a Mercedes E320 CDI.. loved both..

Welcome to the Forum, I"m new here myself..

Does your engine run rough with 91 Octane Gas too?
