07sltcrew Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Installed my 2" Skyjacker leveling kit the other day. Looks so much better then stock! Oh ye also debadged the tailgate Before After Tailgate
bandaman Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 How did it go? I've had one sitting on my shelf for about 3 years...lol pathetic I know, but I've been busy! I'm about to need new tires and going bigger, so I am planning on installing very soon. Did you compress the coil spring yourself? any advice on installing the kit? Looks good.
07sltcrew Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 Either 285/70/17 BFG A/T's or Goodyear Duratracs to come in the spring. Will definitely finish the look. Forgot to mention though after getting this done went to get an alignment and found out that I need both lower ball joints changed and one upper. Bought the extended warranty so that's going in on Tuesday. If it was out of warranty Moog parts would be going on but might as well get OEM for now.
mxdirtrider56 Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Some 285 BFGs will look great with that kit!

If I were to do it again it would go pretty quick. Instructions are a little tough to follow but as you go you can figure it out. I would use a combination of the Skyjacker instructions and the rough country instructions. Skyjacker doesn't mention the sway bar nuts or how to tighten the ball joint. No need to compress the spring. Once you remove the ball joint, sway bar nut, and tie rod the lower control arm will drop enough that you can take the strut out install the spacer and put it back in. If you have questions while doing it send me a PM. I can probably help you out.
