Is This Normal?

I just had my oil pressure guage replaced on my 2003 Yukon Denali. The needle never used to move before. Now it moves. At idle it's at 40. When I step on the gas it goes up about a needle-width, and when it gets to cruising or if I let up on the gas it goes back to 40.

In colder weather the guage is approximately a needle-width lower at all times. (i.e. if the needle is normally at 40, it is now a needle-width lower on the guage.

The needle never moves more than a needle-width from 40 in any direction.

Is this normal or is it a sign of future engine problems to come? I have no automotive experience.

Thank you.

oil pressure is built off of the engine...so if the engine is spinning faster the oil pressure goes higher...if its idleing the oil pressure goes down a little
